Anchorage Teachers Vote "NO" on New Contract

The strike vote is today.

It's really not looking good sports fans.

But don't get me wrong, I believe that the teachers should get what they are asking for.

1) The money is more than reasonable, considering the cost of living has hit them harder than any other teachers in the country.

2) Their health care costs are the same as mine - which isn't a good thing. I believe that teachers, who are surrounded by little bacteria generators every day, should have the best health care available.

It's just that a strike will really suck from a logistics standpoint. *sigh*

Great! More GIMMEE GIMMEE GIMMEE, with nothing about performance. The teachers gripe and grumble about not being paid enough, but look at the benefits package and compare it to joe average laborer out there trying to make HIS house payment. GEEZ LOU-EEZE people! I paid 12,000 in property taxes this year. What did I get for it? Not 12K worth of services, I can g-d--m guarantee that! People, if you are so underpaid, get out of the profession and see what it's like in the real world.
