The Alaska Hillbillies
Come listen to a story 'bout a man named Kopp"
A young police chief who didn't get the word 'stop'
The woman he kept huggin' wanted him to go
So he came face-to-face with Alaska EEO
Complaint, that is...investigation...letter of reprimand
So a few years later the Guvner called him forth
She said, "Hey Chuck, we need you up North"
"I know you've had problems but I'm sure you'll fit the bill"
"Since I'm really in need of another "yes man" shill"
Commissioner..."Top Kopp"...over-his-head
News of his new job shocked the woman, don't you see
Because no one else would know due to Title 23
So she told her story to a couple in the press
And it turned his first conference into something of a mess
Evasive buffoon...obvious liar...couldn't say he "didn't do it."
So now he's denying even though we have the letter
From the City of Kenai meant to make it somewhat better
Between Monegan and Wooten and Mr. "Sex Harasser" new
The Guvner has put herself in quite a Hillbilly Stew
Family feud...nasty and unprofessional...bye bye VP hopes
Labels: Alaska, brother-in-law, Chuck Kopp, City of Kenai, Governor Palin, Kenai Police Chief, sex harasser, Trooper Mike Wooten, Walt Monegan

Frick'n brilliant!
Thanks :D
I figured this story needed a "ballad"
It's a sad state of affairs, but finding humor is good thing. Well done! Speaking of affairs, I wonder if poor Mr. Kopp/Crapachettes was really just looking for another adulterous affair with yet another assistant? Maybe he doesn't have a history of what he would call harassment. Is it harassment if they consent?
I am sure that Kopp did not mean any harm by his actions. He just needed some affection.
I mean just like the dog who frantically humps your leg, he just does not understand how his actions might make you feel uncomfortable.
"Bad Kopp, down boy!"
The woman could have slapped him on his nose with a rolled up newspaper and said, "Bad Kopp...no donut!"
Excellent. Laughter is a nice break from teeth gnashing!
EXCELLENTE!
Do you know which legislatures boinking-- besides the public? You need to write another epic about the session in Juneau.
Wow, it never occurred to me that you could be as cruel to a complete stranger like Chuck Kopp as you have been. I can understand the desire to put some dings in The Teflon Governess, but to start attacking people you don't know is another ball of wax.
Chuck Kopp is a good man and all he did was hug someone once too often and that was dealt with appropriately and is over.
Your attacks are Rovian in nature. We should be gracious in victory, not vindictive. You are no longer a progressive I chose to associate with
I won't be reading Blue Oasis any more, and I've removed the link to it from my blog. I ask that you remove the link to my blog from yours. I no longer wish to be connected with someone as vicious as a republican.
I'm sorry you feel that way, Ishmael. I was at the first press conference with Chuck Kopp and it was obvious from the first words in response to the question that Chuck Kopp was being (obviously) evasive about the sexual harassment issue...which is why the media went at him like sharks.
Having dealt with EEO issues, I also know that someone is not removed from a supervisory position on a whim...and according to the letter from the City of Kenai, it happened AT THE CONCLUSION of the investigation...an investigation he continues to discount in spite of the letter.
While Mr. Kopp may be a great guy to his friends and most of his co-workers, I don't believe he's the right choice to replace Walt Monegan.
I also believe that Governor Palin should be blamed for throwing a man who was obviously ill-equipped to deal with his past or the media to the wolves, especially when giving him no real "new direction" to discuss.
It's obvious that Ishmael can't be objective about anything that makes Palin appear like the inept governor that she is.
Looks aren't everything, Ish. You seem hopelessly shallow.
